Welcome to SCI-FANTASY Tales.

I’m J.S. Earls — a multi-media author and editor whose work spans graphic novels, comics, audiobooks, animation, newspaper strips, and interactive fiction. Some highlights: I adapted Steve Alten’s THE MEG as a graphic novel, edited several volumes of TokyoPop/Zondervan’s Z-Manga Bible, created The Realm Unseen interactive novel & audiobook, worked on online projects for the National Geographic Channel, and created PistolFist — the critically-acclaimed, runaway slave hero voted one of the Top 10 Black Comic Heroes of All-Time.

I create despite real physical limitations — I’m a disabled diabetic living with severe fibromyalgia and arthritis, with very limited use of my hands. Dictation helps. Stubbornness helps more.

I’ve spent 20+ years learning how the entertainment industry actually works — often the hard way — and I built this publication to do two things: release the stories I’ve been building for years, and share what I wish someone had told me when I started.
